Quinebaug River Prehistoric Archaeological District

A Connecticut State Archaeological Preserve

This small quartz projectile point is around 4,200 years old and is called a Squibnocket Triangle – named after the Squibnocket Beach on Martha’s Vineyard where the type was first identified. Squibnocket points are characteristic of the Late Archaic period Narrow-stemmed Tradition in southern New England.
